CCR?? Yes!! CloudClassRoom

Image
Hello everyone, Hope you're all good!! Today, I am going to share my views on Cloud Class Room. Sooo, let's first have a look at what is CCR, then we'll see how it works annnnd I'll end up by sharing my experience with you on the sofware. What is CCR? According to CCR's official website, this software was developed to transform smartphone devices into powerful interactive tools for classroom learning. CCR works on every Internet-capable device without further software or plug-in installation. It operates across platforms, including IOS, Android, and Windows.  How it works? Once the teacher connects his/her device to CCR, he/she can easily initiate anonymous quizzes. In addition to the traditional forced-choice answer format, CCR enables students to respond with short texts, pictures, or even emoticons. Students’ answers are automatically aggregated, in real-time, and analyzed, providing the teacher with a rough picture of student learning progress just in time. My

Soo, let's Dojo, hohoho!!

Hi there,  I'm back, ready to introduce a new online tool to you guys and this one is a Classroom Management Software called Class Dojo. So, before we tackle this, let's talk a bit on Classroom Management Software. This is a software used in classrooms whereby students' device usage is managed. To be clearer, teachers have the ability to see, manage and track students' device activities. Most educators appreciate this great invention as it helps them monitor student work and eliminate distractions. They don't have to be worried about students being off-task. And guess what? This is exactly what Class Dojo offers. Being available on all devices, Class Dojo allows us to create as many virtual groups or classes we need. It also gives the possibility to communicate via a chatbox just like Whatsapp, without the exchanging of mobile numbers. Also, parents and teachers can share photos privately to each other which can actually help when evaluating the progress of the stu

I tried Google Sheet!

Image
Yo ! How are you all? (Well, I know you can't really answer to that right now so let's assume that I'm talking to myself) So, today I tried to create a pie chart on Google sheet. Few days back, I posted a question on my G-classroom (have a look below). Only 5 of my students/classmates/future-colleagues (well I don't know how to call them exactly). Wait, let's create a name out of these 3 words; STU-CLASS-COL-MATES. Guess I'm tired. Only 5 out of 13 responded to the question but I decided to use the data anyway.  Let's have a look to the question I posted; Using this data, I tried to create a Pie Chart to have a better view at their level of motivation.. Most of them workout for at least 10 minutes per day and that's great ! One thing for sure, the more data you collect, the more interesting will be your chart, but I wanted to give it a try!  Google Sheet and Microsoft Excel are practically the same, but when we talk of Functions and Formulas, man, I wou

Diego? Oh you mean Diigo!!

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing good! Today we'll talk about a friend of mine named Diigo. On Monday, we have been introduced to this platform and I'm here sharing it with you!! Soo, let's diiiiiiive into it! Diigo is a social bookmarking website with the goal of helping us create our own personal library (Amazing, right?). DIIGO is actually an abbreviation for 'Donut Is Irresistibly Good Oh'. (Ok I'm actually kidding). DIIGO means 'Digest Of Internet Information, Groups and Other stuff'. The platform simplifies e-reading, and improves workflows to boost productivity. It also helps users to manage information using sticky notes, highlights and tags. I find the website useful when it comes to sharing information with ease as it stores all our relevant information in the cloud. So yeah by the way, Diigo is a LMS (remember that term?). It also allows us to share as much data we want and those can be set private or public. As a prospective teacher,

Let's Quizizz!!

Yo! Hope you're all good.  Today, I'll share a platform with you (kind of similar to Kahoot), named Quizizz.  Sooooo, let's dive into it! Quizizz is a creativity software company used for classes, group works, exams etc.. Even though it is a bit like Kahoot, Quizizz keeps its originality by allowing us to conduct student-paced formative assessments. DO NOT PANIC! LET ME EXPLAIN!  On the platform, there is an option whereby questions appear on each student's screen, so they can answer questions at their own pace, and review their answers at the end (Quite fun right?). I find it dynamic and engaging for students of all ages. What I also like about Quizizz is that there are a lot of public quizzes that we can try. It helps in gaining knowledge on various topics and share with teachers all around the globe! As a future teacher, I'll definitely use Quizizz to assess my students after each topic that I'll be covering in class and I encourage educators to use it to br

Kahoot!

Hi everyone,  Last week, we were introduced to Kahoot which is a game-based learning platform. It is a free-student response tool for administering quizzes, facilitating discussions and collecting data. I find Kahoot fun to use and personally, I prefer its design compared to Google Form and JQuiz on Hot Potatoes.  (By the way, i'll introduce you to Hot Potatoes someday)  On Kahoot, teachers can ask questions or opinions of students through Quizzes, True/False, Polls etc.. (see picture below). However, we can only use Quiz and True/False freely as when it comes to 'Type answer', 'Puzzle', 'Polls' and 'Slides', we are asked to pay for an upgrade, which is quite not-cool (i'm making a sad face right now)  My first Kahoot Quiz is about Sport activities and I tried to vary both Quiz and True/False questions (as you can see below). The platform also contains various images under different themes. You can also upload the pictures you want from your co

On your mark, get set, gooogle classroom!

Hello guys, Hope you're all good. As my subject area is Physical Education, the course I will be launching on G-Classroom will be all abouut ????. Come on. Say it with me! Bravo! Good answer! The course will be about PHYSICAL EDUCATION!! (I feel like Dora The Explorer). Seriously, today I have been thinking of topics I can introduce to you on G-Classroom and the idea of starting from the basic use of sports came to my mind.  Why not guiding you on how to stay fit?  Nowadays, with easy access to social media, a lot of people, especially teenagers do not care about staying fit. Long ago, sport was an entertainment for youngsters, now if Tik Tok was a sport discipline, Mauritius would be the most healthy country on the planet with excellent TikTok Athletes.  Taking care of one's health and mental state is important. For me, teaching and sharing my point of views on staying fit is crucial and the fact that fitness does not deal with one specific sport discipline, everybody will be
